Program Director and Licensed Restorative Practices (RP) Trainer, Black Family Development Inc. (BFDI)

Keisha N. Allen is a Program Director and Licensed Restorative Practices (RP) trainer with Black Family Development Inc. (BFDI). Since 2014 Keisha has trained hundreds of individuals in restorative practices with the aim to, “Develop community and to manage conflict and tensions by repairing harm and restoring relationships.” She firmly believes in the fundamental hypothesis which is, “that human beings are happier, more cooperative and productive, and more likely to make positive changes in their behavior when those in positions of authority do things with them, rather than to them or for them.” As a result, she has impacted the reduction in suspensions for black and brown boys, thereby also reducing the school-to-prison pipeline.

Additionally, Keisha’s passion for making a difference in the lives of people has afforded her the opportunity to create sustainable programs that educate and impact the way families raise their children. With a focus on academics, attendance and behavior, Keisha has been able to reach hundreds of parents thereby creating a positive shift in the lives of children, youth and families.

Keisha’s ability to speak, teach and write comes from her love of communication which is why she received her degree in Communications from Wayne State University. She is also a sought after national speaker on topics such as youth, women, spiritual matters and restorative justice.

Keisha has been married for 16 years to Grammy Award-winning music producer, Paul Allen. She is also the mother to a beautiful little girl, Kendall Jordan Allen. She firmly believes that her purpose is to help others discover the power of their purpose. Her compelling testimony of overcoming many challenges empowers her to know that all things are possible to them that believe.
