About Pittsburgh

Led by philanthropic investments specifically focused on Black men and boys from the Heinz Endowments, Pittsburgh has a rich cultural history that has fueled its community efforts. From the influence of the great playwright August Wilson to programs like One Hood that was founded by BMe Leader and artist and community organizer Jasiri X, Pittsburgh score of 74 out of 100 points was determined by a rich combination of local efforts supported by philanthropy and a committed community of advocates working in the arts and youth development and mentoring.

In 2015, following a year of community review, analysis and community input, members of the local My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Committee with support from City of Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto released a My Brother’s Keeper Playbook.
