Journey To Radiance: Black Panther

In honor of Women's History Month, we are excited to launch Episode Four of CBMA's "Journey to Radiance" multimedia series, featuring artist, activist, musician, and poet Charlotte O'Neal, also known as "Mama C." 

In this episode, we learn about Mama C's history with the Black Panther Party in Kansas, MO and her journey after being forced to flee the U.S. to Tanzania with her husband Pete O'Neal in the 1970's, where they settled and launched the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC). Tune into the learn about her time as part of the Black Panthers, navigating her identity as a Black woman in Africa, and how she uses the arts to teach and heal.
