Congratulations to the MBK Community Challenge Grantees!

Today President Barack Obama and The Obama Foundation announced the winners of the MBK Community Challenge, a national competition to identify and invest in communities working to improve life outcomes for boys and young men of color.

The Campaign for Black Male Achievement -- which served as part of the MBK Community Challenge Working Group -- is thrilled that two of our partners have been named winners of the national MBKA Impact Communities grantBlack Family Development, Inc. (Detroit, MI) and Nepperhan Community Center, Inc. (Yonkers, NY)!
Additionally, three of CBMA's longstanding partner organizations are listed among the Obama Foundation's Communities to Watch: the Center for Urban Families (Baltimore, MD); Metro United Way (Louisville, KY) and MBK Denver (Denver, CO)!

"CBMA is proud that these local leaders and hometown heroes are being nationally-recognized for their hard-fought efforts to advance Black Male Achievement in their cities and communities. As longtime investors in this space, we know that increased investment from the public and private sectors is critical to building beloved communities where Black men and boys can thrive and achieve their greatest potential. CBMA expresses its gratitude to President Obama and the Obama Foundation for their continued commitment to expanding opportunities for America's Black males. We are emboldened by today's announcement and the promise it holds for our young people for generations to come." Shawn Dove, CEO of the Campaign for Black Male Achievement.
