Development Officer

Alvin “AJ” Taylor is excited to join the Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) as Development Officer. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Development Officer is primarily responsible for prospecting new potential funders and donors, facilitating communication with funders and donors, and collaborating with the broader CBMA team for writing grant proposals and required reports. 
 
Prior to joining CBMA, AJ had the pleasure of creating meaningful work geared towards youth empowerment, through development and programming, at renowned institutions such as Carnegie Hall, The Flea Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Northwestern University.
 
Hailing from the Southeast, in a former life, AJ experienced success as a music educator and performer in Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, and New York. AJ holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mississippi State University and a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. He also completed graduate coursework towards a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University.
