A. Nicole Campbell is a senior advisor who has provided strategic legal, governance, and operational guidance for two of the world’s most prominent philanthropists. With over a decade of experience in the public and private sectors, Nic is adept at working within complex global structures, developing nonprofit organizations from concept phase to full independence, and designing and implementing appropriate funding and governance structures for grantees, donors, and collaboratives. She has spent her career advising donors, foundations, and NGOs on their work in the United States and around the world in areas as diverse as public health, drug policy, women's rights, criminal justice, and human rights, and has extensively designed and advised on the use of innovative funding vehicles.

Nic is currently Senior Director of Operations and Foundation Counsel for the Dalio Foundation where she is responsible for the Foundation’s operational infrastructure build-out, management of the Foundation’s governance, grant making, and legal affairs, and serves as the programmatic lead for the Foundation’s China capacity-building and child welfare portfolio. Immediately prior to joining the Dalio Foundation, Nic was the Deputy General Counsel for the Open Society Foundations where she provided legal, governance, and operational advice to a global network of over 35 charitable organizations and foundations.

In addition, Nic is founder and CEO of Build Up Advisory Group, a boutique firm that helps philanthropists and social sector organizations transform their infrastructure and capacity to facilitate and support social and economic change and equity around the world. She is also President of Build Up, Inc., a fiscal sponsor that works with transformational projects poised to change the world.

Nic received her B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
